St. Cross Arches

Through his school, my son was associated with Oxford University and one of its colleges, St. Cross. We spent an hour or so sitting inside the courtyard of the college, which had two parts. These arches lead to the second part with a lush green lawn. I have since come to know that the flowers are wisteria. Unless you literally have a key (he did) or have paid to be on tour visiting the inner court of these colleges is limited. It was a great pleasure to sit there and then just stroll around wherever I wanted. It was very quiet. It was just us.
