The Michigan State University Horticultural Gardens are a visual delight. I had come over to take photographs of flowers as there is generally something worth the bother. I was walking near the end of the greenhouses when I noticed this hummingbird working the lantana with determined abandon. He actually landed several times to take stock of the situation. I had never seen a hummingbird land. He let me take photographs for a time, and then he disappeared off across the garden.
