Future Tense

$5.00$350.00

Father was the Superintendent of the Greenfield Community Unit #10 School District in a place that time had nearly gotten around to forgetting even in 1960. Father was always making or doing for himself or someone else. It must have been that after building one of the larger new houses in town, we needed a shed. As a fourth or fifth grader, I ‘helped’ Father build this shed. In 2004 I took the time to walk around town and simply remember things with my camera. The alley on the east side of the house also ran along the narrow backyard where the shed stood. Obviously, the shed had not been as important to the homeowners that followed our stay. I sat on the roof as Father pounded nails into the shingles and talked about my future.
