Dubrovnik Window

I never pined to go to Dubrovnik, Croatia. Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia—the whole mess just seemed like a big hunk of hell to me. However, the cruise ship’s first port of call was Dubrovnik. It was wonderful. It is a walled city —of the medieval sort—squeezed between the Adriatic and the mountains. There were plazas, narrow streets, and terraces that held houses built up the side of the mountain. It is also jammed with tourist stores, but that was OK and could be ignored. Dubrovnik is where I first started to see all the windows that were like set pieces waiting for me to photograph.
